About Macon Gators Hockey

Gators Hockey was founded on big smiles and a big appetite for fun!
We have recognized a gap in the sport and we want to fill it!
Our goal is hockey for everyone…no really…hockey for everyone!
Our programs are based on teaching strong foundational skills, primarily skating, puck control, passing, shooting and positional awareness. As well as team work and a strong work ethic.
 

Well that’s great but tell me how hockey is for “everyone”
Gators hockey is for everyone!
We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy this sport and we provide that opportunity. When you register to become a Gator we help provide some of the hockey equipment need to play and facilitate the ability and knowlege to get your Gator up and going with; shin pads, elbow pads, shoulder pads, pants, gloves, skates, helmet, sticks and team jerseys, As well as excellent coaching to get your Gator out there on the move!
“Wow! That Sounds expensive…”
Well yes minor hockey is an expensive sport. Registration can be anywhere from $500- thousands of dollars depending on league and skill of play. That of course does not include equipment or travel costs..
However, that is where we differ from minor hockey and most other learn to play programs.
We provide a very reasonable registration fee, AND we provide sponsorship programs for anyone that WANTS to play but find themselves in a financially restricted situation. Also with Gators hockey you are not restricted to a one-time registration! We want to see you smiling on the ice with us, month after month, year after year!
 

Lastly we want our Gators to be community focused; if you are currently volunteering, or giving back to our community let us know!
 

We are Macon Gators, hungry for fun, hungry for success and happy to help!
 

We want to grow this game in the right ways, accessibility and sustainability through community.
We are 100% volunteer based and 100% donor operated. We are very proud of this model; we feel that it best demonstrates that our community is there for our community.
 

Our goal is to build a community around this great sport in our amazing city full of big hungry smiling faces that will not hesitate to pick someone up when they fall down! (Side note: the ice is slippery so in some sense quite literally please pick each other up!)
 

“Hockey?? This is middle Georgia. We play football!”
Yes! Go Dawgs!! And Go Bears!! And I hear Wesleyan is STILL undefeated!!
A lot of great colleges/universities in the US including Georgia also have hockey teams!!
And not to worry! Our ice time schedule is set between football seasons so no need to choose between the two, we are fully supportive of developing multi-sport athletes.
